General Information

These Terms and Conditions govern your participation in the “Back to the Source: A Private Leadership Retreat in Rural Senegal” 7-day retreat held in rural Senegal, West Africa (hereinafter referred to as “the Retreat”). By registering for the Retreat, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.

Eligibility and Registration

• Participants must be 18 years or older at the time of registration.

• Full payment is required to secure your place on the Retreat.

Deposit and Payment

• The full amount is required at the time of booking. This sum may be transferred to another participant if you are unable to attend.

Retreat Inclusions and Exclusions

• The Retreat fee includes:

• Pre-trip group call on 18.12.25 from 18h to 19h30 CET

• Post-trip group call on 5.2.26 from 18h to 19h30 CET

• All accommodations in Senegal

• All transportation in Senega

• Visa for The Gambia (purchased at the boarder)

• Daily breakfast, lunch and dinner

• All tickets for activities, excursions and cultural immersion experiences

• Materials and tailor service for 2 custom garments

• Retreat fee does not include:

• Flights to and from Africa

Retreat Itinerary

• The Retreat itinerary includes individual reflection time, group sharing, cultural and humanitarian activities, and excursions in Dakar and rural Senegal.

Insurance and Liability

• Participants must obtain comprehensive travel insurance at their own expense. This insurance should cover medical emergencies, accidents, trip cancellations, and personal liability.

• The Retreat organizers are not liable for any loss, theft, damage to personal belongings, or injuries incurred during the Retreat.

• Participation in the Retreat is at your own risk, and you accept full responsibility for your safety and well-being.

Health and Vaccinations

• Vaccinations are a personal choice. Participants are encouraged to consult their healthcare provider for recommendations prior to traveling.

• Participants must disclose any medical conditions, allergies, or dietary restrictions before the Retreat begins.

• The organizers are not liable for any health-related issues that may arise during or after the Retreat.

Cancellation Policy

• Cancellations must be made in writing (email doug@dougmanuel.com)

• Payment is non-refundable but may be transferred to another participant.

Media Release

By participating in the Retreat, you consent to the use of photographs or videos taken during the Retreat for promotional and / or research purposes, or for future retreats unless you notify the organizers in writing prior to the Retreat start date.

Documentary Notice

This retreat may be featured in an upcoming documentary by the organizers, Beats as One. A film crew may be present during the retreat to capture various activities and moments. Participants may choose not to be featured in the documentary. However, by agreeing to be featured, participants consent to appear in the documentary without any compensation and agree to sign all necessary release forms as required by the organizers.

Code of Conduct

Participants are expected to respect local customs, the natural environment, and fellow participants throughout the Retreat.

Force Majeure

The organizers are not liable for delays, interruptions, or cancellations caused by events beyond their control, such as natural disasters, political unrest, pandemics, or other emergencies.

Governing Law

Any dispute arising with respect to or in connection with this agreement shall be exclusively decided by the ordinary courts of the Canton of Valais, Switzerland. Place of jurisdiction shall be in Sion.

By registering for the “Back to the Source: A Private Leadership Retreat in Rural Senegal” you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions.
